New PenChecks, Inc. COO Aims For Operational Excellence

by | Nov 28, 2022

SAN DIEGO, CA, November 28, 2022 – PenChecks, Inc., parent company of PenChecks Trust®, a leader in innovative retirement plan distribution solutions, is pleased to announce the addition of Alexandra Gerritsen as the company’s new Chief Operating Officer (COO). Her primary responsibilities include overseeing day-to-day operations while enhancing efficiency, scalability and operational excellence.

Gerritsen’s background spans more than 15 years as a senior leader for diverse companies ranging from medical and government to digital, ecommerce and technology. Holding different positions at each company gave her a well-rounded experience in virtually all aspects of operating a business. Her time in the medical and government industries provided valuable insight into the challenges of operating in highly regulated industries – a real strength in PenChecks’ retirement/financial services markets.

Prior to joining PenChecks, Gerritsen served as President and COO for the Artemis Institute for Clinical Research, where she oversaw business operations including sales, marketing, IT, and operations. As Chief of Staff for Retail E-commerce Venture she led business operations processes while supporting HR strategy and people management. At PenChecks, Gerritsen also fills the role of coach and mentor, helping employees grow professionally, build cross-functional teams, and become skilled in continuous improvement methodology.

“Alexandra brings a relentless focus on operational excellence and keeping the customer first when implementing new processes to our organization,” says Spiro Preovolos, President and CEO of PenChecks. “In our rapidly changing industry, her ability to manage daily operations while looking for new ways to enhance the customer experience is a perfect fit with our service-oriented culture. We are delighted to have her on board.”

Gerritsen holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Southern California, Marshall School of Business, and a B.S. degree in Business Administration, Marketing and International Business from Georgetown University. She is a Certified Scrum Master and Lean Six Sigma black belt, and was selected as a Top Female COO by Industry Era Magazine in 2021.
